How to receive SMS online without a SIM card

You receive SMS online by buying a virtual number and reading the inbound message in a dashboard. On SMS.Red the path is: create an account, top up, pick the service and country, purchase the number, then watch Messages for the code.

1. Create an SMS.Red account

Register with email or Telegram. You do not need to attach a personal mobile to start. After you sign in, open Wallet and add balance. Activations debit the wallet when the number is issued.

2. Choose one-time verification or a rental

Use Verifications if you only need the first code. Use Rentals if the same app will text that number again (2FA, password reset, a new device). See when to rent a number.

3. Pick the service and country

Select the app you are verifying — Telegram, WhatsApp, Google, and the rest of the catalog. Then pick a country the app is likely to accept. United States is the default on SMS.Red and is the first country to try for most consumer apps. Country choice is covered in how to choose a country.

4. Buy the number and request the SMS

1. Confirm the price and (for rentals) the duration, then purchase.
2. Copy the full international number SMS.Red shows you.
3. Paste it into the app’s phone field and send the code.
4. Open Messages on SMS.Red and wait for the inbound SMS.
5. Copy the code back into the app.

If the code does not arrive

• Wait a full minute before hitting resend. Many apps throttle the first request.
• Check that you selected the same service the SMS is coming from.
• Try another country if the first prefix is blocked.
• For an account you will keep, switch from a 20-minute OTP to a rental.
